“Under communism, the conceptual engine that animated the communist ideology was the idea of class struggle, supposedly fought throughout the entire history of humanity. In a liberal democracy, this engine — believed to have been present in the history of humanity since the beginning of time — is an improved version of the original. The Marxists had only “class” as an ideological leverage. In today’s liberal democracy the main ideological triad is “class, race, and gender”…

Relationship between the Managerial State, Post-Modernism and Progressivism

The political class that emerged in Europe after the Cold War have become excessively ideological and committed to narratives to socially construct new realities. The Europeans’ embrace of postmodernism entails questioning the existence of objective reality as our understanding of reality is shaped by language, culture and unique historical perspectives. The postmodernists therefore often seek to change narratives and language as a source of political power. If reality is a social construction, then the grand narratives can be more important than facts. Indeed, ideological narratives must be defended from inconvenient facts.

The European project had the benign intentions of creating a common liberal democratic European identity that would transcend the divisive national rivalry and power politics of the past. The relevance of objective reality is contested, and narratives about reality are believed to reflect power structures that can be dismantled and reorganised”…

“the hubris of science, or scientific totalitarianism, originates from the fact that modern science knows only “horizontal causality”, since it searches for laws as constant relationships between phenomena, i.e. it studies reality as a system of forces, not of values”…

— Augusto del Noce

As outlined in The New Dark Age — The Perspectivism of Modernity & Post-Modernity and the Disintermediation of Reality through Semiotic Signs the arrival of Modernity reflected a Theological, Philosophical and Metaphysical hard-fork.

Man’s attempted Nietzschean liberation and a new vision of what it meant to be Human including the negation of Human Nature.

The suppression of the Religious Dimension.

Given this Primacy of Man and the Nietzschean Perspectivism Primacy of Human Consciousness that emerges in Modernity and Post-Modernity it is inevitable that Reality would be viewed as a construct of Human Consciousness.

Initially in Modernity, this Perspectivism took the form of Descartes’s Cartesian Dualism and mental structure philosophical system (Cartesianism Res Cogitans and Res Extensa), in which knowledge is derived through deductive logic and pure reason.

However, this Modern Perspectivism when combined with the individual embodied nature of the lived experience would ultimately lead to the deconstruction of the certainty, rationality and objectivity of Modernism.

If the genesis of early Modernism was an inward orientation of human consciousness towards rationality and pure reason as the source of understanding and objective knowledge, late Modernism’s outward orientation and reflection of the embodied nature of human consciousness would lead to the deconstruction of this objectivity.

Multiple perspectives (experience, history, context ) of the Primacy of Man mediate our understanding of Reality (a Post-Modern Perspectivism).

The hard-fork of Modern European Philosophy and liberation of Man had lead Western Civilisation into the cul de sac of Post-Modernity and a New Dark Age.

Socialism of any type leads to a total destruction of the human spirit and to a leveling of mankind into death”…

— Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn

If the notion of an objective independent Reality (i.e. replaced by a Nietzschean Perspectivism) and the notion of truth (i.e. replaced by a Post-Modern subjective relativism — Umwelt) were no longer relevant, it was inevitable that Reality would become a Marxist Social Construct shaped by Nietzschean Will to Power, embracement of Technology and development of a Semiotic Industrial Complex.

Totalitarianism is not mere dictatorship. It is, rather, a new historical phenomenon that evolves when political values become the supreme consideration, in the light of which all other values must be judged”…

— Augusto del Noce

Since this early beginning, every revolution has depended on widespread dissimulation of information to the masses in the form of carefully crafted “managed truths.” We know that propaganda played a vital role not only in our own American revolt but also in the French Revolution, the Revolution of 1848, the rise of National Socialism in Germany and Fascism in Italy, as well as in modern communist revolutions. One of the central aspects of mass propaganda is “the lie,” which is always shrouded with a modicum of truth, however small. Jean Francois Revel tells us, “All the authors who have described this immersion in falsehood — Orwell, Solzhenitsyn, Zinoviev — all have insisted that falsehood is not simply an additive but an organic component of totalitarianism, a protective carapace without which it could not survive”…

“We are approaching the brink; already a universal spiritual demise is upon us; a physical one is about to flare up and engulf us and our children, while we continue to smile sheepishly and babble:

“But what can we do to stop it? We haven’t the strength.”

We have so hopelessly ceded our humanity that for the modest handouts of today we are ready to surrender up all principles, our soul, all the labors of our ancestors, all the prospects of our descendants — anything to avoid disrupting our meager existence. We have lost our strength, our pride, our passion. We do not even fear a common nuclear death, do not fear a third world war (perhaps we’ll hide away in some crevice), but fear only to take a civic stance! We hope only not to stray from the herd, not to set out on our own, and risk suddenly having to make do without the white bread, the hot water heater, a Moscow residency permit.

We have internalized well the lessons drummed into us by the state”….

— Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn
